Abstract

This study extends the TAM literature by showing fintech promotion and intention as sequential mediating variables in explaining the actual use of e-wallet by Gen Z. The results of the study show that directly perceived ease of use has a positive effect on fintech promotion and intention to use e-wallet, indirectly perceived ease of use affects intention to use e-wallet through fintech promotion, affects actual use of e-wallet through intention to use e-wallet and affects actual use of e-wallet through fintech promotion and intention to use e-wallet. Furthermore, directly perceived ease has a positive effect on fintech promotion and intention to use an e-wallet; indirectly perceived ease affects intention to use an e-wallet through fintech promotion, affects actual use of an e-wallet through intention to use an e-wallet, and affects actual use of an e-wallet through fintech promotion and intention to use an e-wallet. Fintech promotion positively affects intention to use an e-wallet and, through intention, affects actual use; intention also has a direct effect on actual use.
