Altman Z-Score Model Bankruptcy Prediction Analysis

Abstract

This research was conducted to know the condition of the company’s financial health and verify the accuracy through Altman Z-Score model towards audit opinions on oil and gas companies that have been listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. This is a quantitative descriptive research using secondary data. These data were analyzed using the Altman Z-Score method and reviewed the accuracy to the audit opinion. The results show that oil and gas companies have unstable financial conditions and tend to be potentially bankrupt. Only two out of seven companies that have the possibility to be saved. Other results show the low accuracy of the Altman Z-Score model towards audit opinion. It means that the financial performance of the oil and gas companies in the 2013-2017 still needs to be improved.
